What is the role of a Recruitment Consultant?
The role of a consultant has changed enormously over recent years though at Austin Benn we don’t try to over-complicate matters with our clients and candidates.  Whilst we have the latest in recruitment tools we still believe that face-to-face communication with both clients and candidates is the key to our high levels of repeat business and continuing success.  The role of a consultant is fast paced and busy with a heavy emphasis on sales and customer service.  No two days are ever the same as no two human beings or companies are ever the same.  At the core of our business we know that it is the quality of the service delivered by our consultants that makes the difference and at Austin Benn we will provide you with all of the tools to succeed.

What qualifications or experience do I need to become an Austin Benn Recruitment Consultant?
There are no ‘hard and fast’ rules in our requirements; some of our consultants are graduates, some are not, some are hugely experienced, some are not.  What is required in each and every one of our consultants is the right blend of personal qualities.  We look for the right spirit, determination to succeed and enthusiastic attitude in combination with experience in either sales or customer service.  We require hard work and dedication and look to recruit individuals that will embrace our values on our daily basis.

What is a typical day as an Austin Benn Consultant?
Recruitment is a multi-skilled role that requires continual multi-tasking to succeed.  Each of our consultants is responsible for the entire recruitment process, from taking the job specification from a client to liasing with the client long after a candidate has been successfully placed into a role.  Each day is therefore enormously varied – registering candidates face-to-face, client meetings, utilizing the latest recruitment software tools, matching candidates to client requirements, seeking new business opportunities, taking exhaustive feedback throughout a recruitment process from all parties, building client relationships, helping candidates prepare and research for interviews to name a few of the many responsibilities.  It is a challenging and responsible role which is enormously rewarding across a multitude of levels.
